Many phoenixes have a liking for/familarity with the undead kingdoms and enjoy visiting them. This is because undead are also in effect immortal, and thus the phoenix might see familiar faces even if it has been centuries since the last visit. (source: Personal communication with Kenkou Cross).
The furry decorations and ribbons are designed after the tails of fiery birds of folklore, and them making it look like the phoenix has human arms at first is an intentional illusion on the part of KC. (source: Making of Pyrow and Phoenix article on Patreon).
Unmarried phoenix will disguise themselves as human-like creatures using anthropomorphosis and join with groups of pyrows to search a city for men. Thus it can be said that their image as a divine bird is maintained because when they attack men and show their hedonistic side they are often in disguise. It is also rumored that they adopt such disguises because they dislike being treated so formally, but it is uncertain how much this applies since there are so few phoenixes.
